Arthritis Walk

Thank you for participating in the 2010 Arthritis Walk!
The Arthritis Walk is the signature fundraiser of the Arthritis Foundation. Participants from across the country join together to raise funds in the fight against arthritis. Form a team or join as an individual.

Setting Your Goal

As you see above, our goal is $20,000 for the 2010 Walk. Take a look at your Team goal. If you’re a returning Team, talk with your Teammates about raising it accordingly. If you’re a new Team or new Participant, aim for the stars! Remember you can send emails from this website telling your story and asking for support. So reaching your goal has never been easier.

A Celebration!

All the hard work of fund raising throughout the year culminates in a huge celebration at the Walk. This year’s event promises to be the biggest and best yet!
  • Fun for the whole family, including the dog!

  • A kids area with kid friendly activities
  • Plenty of food and drink

  • Raffles filled with great prizes!

Let's Move Together

By joining the Arthritis Walk you are also becoming a part of Let’s Move Together that encourages people to move daily for better health and to prevent or treat arthritis.

Help is just a phone call away!

The Arthritis Foundation is vested in your success. If you have any questions about the Walk including how to use this site, call us. Meet our Hero

Ellen Friedl sees through the daily challenge of having rheumatoid and osteoarthritis by treating each day as a gift. Diagnosed with arthritis at 42 years of age, Ellen faced severe denial, visiting four rheumatologists and believing she was too young for such a diagnosis. But, Ellen quickly learned to lead a normal life despite her arthritis.

Ellen enjoys spending time with her three children and two grandchildren, swimming and working out, reading, using the computer and doing crafts. She does not let her arthritis stop her from participating in the activities she loves. Ellen is also a certified Arthritis Foundation Live Improvement Series Group Exercise Instructor, Self-Help Group Facilitator and Support Group Leader.

“The biggest challenge is not so much for myself and my arthritis. I want to challenge others to stay positive, stay motivates, stay involved and to keep moving. It is my passion to help others with arthritis by letting them know that just because you have arthritis does not mean you have to stop living – you CAN help your arthritis by helping yourself,” explains Ellen.

It is this dedication to helping others deal with their arthritis that has led the Arthritis Foundation to choose Ellen Friedl as the 2010 Orland Park Let’s Move Together Arthritis Walk Hero. Ellen looks forward to using her role as hero to spread the message that everyone can stop their arthritis from taking normalcy out of their lives.
